We,
the American Rescue Workers, see the hurt…the pain, the joy…the
happiness of our community.
We see the needs, be it food, clothing, furniture,
fellowship, education, rehabilitation or counseling.
We realize we cannot be everything the community needs, but
we can meet some needs according to the way God has provided and
supplied our needs.
We can comfort, support and love one another.
We can share what we have with others…knowing that through
this principle we will always have more than enough to share. |

Matthew
25:31-40…teaches us that the Son of Man will judge the nations at His
return…”Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me
food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took
Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I
was in prison and you came to Me…inasmuch as you did it to one of the
least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”

Partnership in the gospel is our Christian
responsibility. Partnership demands the investment of thought and time and
concern and labor and energy and money, all aimed at setting forward the
purposes of the gospel of Christ. The
ends of the gospel can never be accomplished apart from the proclamation of the
gospel, so that the truth revealed in Christ, the redeeming grace of Christ and
the principles of Christ’s Kingdom are known everywhere.
The purpose of the gospel aims also at service to destitute and needy
persons with Christian love and the application of the principle of love in all
human relationships. There is
urgency in the gospel. Without it,
the black darkness of sin cannot be driven back; without it, the hopelessness
and iniquity and death in human hearts will not be overcome by the forgiveness
and peace and strength of new life in Christ.
This partnership of sharing in ministry allows our
giving to take on a very real and tangible form as we reach out…it is through
individuals and churches and other ministries that we are afforded the privilege
of helping to meet greater needs in our community.
The focus of our faith is Jesus Christ…He is our source..
